The advance mechanism is 20 microns not 2, that is my complaint about
the description.
I was making what I thought was 10 micron slices, that is 5 clicks
per slice, thinking, "this is easy".
But I always had trouble with air creeping in to the edge of the
slides. It was then, using a feeler guage I noticed the gap between
coverglass and slide was a lot bigger than 10 microns. It was in fact
100 microns.
It's much harder to produce a section after 1 click, ie 20 microns,
but then much easier to produce a good slide.
I don't have a problem with Brunnel, I think they just copied the
item description from the manufacturer. besides I have had it a
couple of months - took me that long to realise.
