Re: [watercar] lpm needed for full hydroxy engine

holley prints a book how to choose the size of carb needed for your engine size in cfm
of air flow thru the venturi at either 3in vacum drop for a 2 barrel or 1.5 drop for 4 barrrel carbs.they then have a formula to determine a starting point for the jet sizess to use.
some of this info may be useful to you. a350 cid engine with 325hp heads and large valves needs a 600-700cfm carb depending the rpm range the engine will be running at. then you must calculate the btus of i gallon of gasoline verse i gallon of hydroxy fully vaporized.
this is stuff i toyed with 30 years ago and i lost the paperwork. a friend of mine used to run a pulling tractor based upon a MM g1000 vista on mixed gas lp. he knew the formulas. he got 3000hp out of the 800cid engine at 2500rpm he always put on a good show watching him open valves in various tanks and seeing the fire shoot a foot higher out of the exhaust was half the fun.. another thing is considering the upper limit of compression ratio you need for best power vrs engine life.
on lp if you got the fuel mix wrong you would burn holes in pistons very quickly.
i am getting set up to build a test stand connecting a pickup powertrain to a generator using hydroxy. i can easily calculate hp by watts produced and amperage loads at 220/110 single phase output at 60hz

considering hydroxy is more powerful than hydrogen by itself, and an
engine build around gas instead of oil is double to triple as
efficient, expecially burning hydrogen and oxygen from near complete
combustion, how many LPM is needed to run a small or midsized
internal combustion engine with around 150-200 HP? i thought i
remember seeing 150 LPM somewhere on the net but im not sure how
accurate this is. if the amound needed is between 150 and 200 lpm,
my math says the joules needed for this amound of conversion per
minute for 200 LPM is 2,160,000 (considering your electrolyzer runs
at 3 watt hours per liter electrolized. a 200 hp engine delivers
approx 149,139 Joules/sec or 8,948,340 joules in a minute or 41.42
watt hours. that leaves 6,788,340 joules to run your car. a high
current alternator that requires 16-20 horsepower to run that puts
out 13.8 V and 200 Amps uses approx 15,000 joules a second to
operate, which equates between 716,000 and 900,000 joules a minute
to run a HC alternator. now we are approximately 6 million joules
left at this point to run your car which is approx 130 HP, which i
would expect that amount to be needed to effectively drive a car
anyways. so wheres my math going wrong at or did anyone not ever do
this math and build a large enough system to sustain combustion? i
know cars exist on the road today with 130H or less, so why isnt
this done? Is my math wrong?
